Why learn with Glen?

Good to know

Good questions. Clear answers.

Do I need my own drum kit?

No. The studio kit, practice pads, and drumsticks are available during your lesson. During your home practice, a pad works great, and virtually every top drummer works out on a practice pad.

Where can I purchase a practice pad and sticks, and what do they cost?
Practice pad with a pair of drumsticks

You do not need to buy gear for the lesson. Students are welcome to borrow a pad and sticks free during the lesson, or purchase them directly at the studio.

Drumsticks
$15 per pair, including tax
Practice pad
$25 each, including tax. The natural rubber surface and solid base provide a real-drum feel at low volume.

Purchase: At your lesson by cash or e-transfer.

Do you offer group lessons?

Yes. You can form your own group of 3 to 6 students for group lessons. They are more affordable—and more fun!

Is it too late to start?

Adults

What's more fun than drumming along with recordings of your favourite band? Even understanding how and what drummers are playing while you listen to your favourite playlists is great fun.

Seniors

Learning to drum can exercise memory through a natural sequence: learning rudiments, grouping them into phrases, joining phrases into sections, and then playing your favourite song. Relaxed practice also develops physical dexterity, with a focus on the fingers, wrists, and forearms.

What happens in the free session?

We talk about your musical interests, try the kit, and shape a lesson approach that fits your goals.

Do lessons have to be every week?

Weekly lessons are the usual rhythm because consistency helps, but scheduling can be flexible when needed. We can discuss a pace that works for you.

What are your terms of payment for lessons?

All lessons are prepaid monthly. Cash is preferred, or you may pay by e-transfer. Credit and debit payments are not available.
